Deals

Use this page to create and manage promotional deals per outlet — bundles, combo meals, BOGO-style offers, and limits by date, time, weekday, platform, and order type.

Restaurant first

Add New Deal stays disabled until you select a Restaurant in the list filters. The first outlet may be selected automatically on load.


Deals list

What it does

Shows deals for one restaurant with drag-to-reorder, filters, pagination, and view/edit/delete actions.

Step-by-step

  1. Open Locations ManagementDeals.
  2. Select Restaurant in the filter bar (first outlet may auto-select).
  3. Optionally set Deal Type, Search, Active Only, or Current Only.
  4. Read the table — drag handle, ID, Name, Deal Type, Date Range, Status, Platform, Order Type, Actions.
  5. Drag a row by the grip to change display order (auto-saves).
  6. Tap Refresh, Add New Deal (+), or row actions.
  7. Use pagination at the bottom to change page or rows per page.

Filters and toolbar

Active OnlyWhen on, shows only Active deals.

Add New Deal (+)Opens Create New Deal. Disabled until a restaurant is selected.

Changing any filter returns you to the first page.

What the table shows

Row actions

ActionWhat it does
View (eye)Opens View Deal in read-only mode.
Edit (pencil)Opens Edit Deal.
Delete (trash)Confirms: Are you sure you want to delete the deal "{name}"? This action cannot be undone.

Reorder deals

  1. Drag a row by the grip to a new position.
  2. Order saves automatically — success: Deal sequence has been updated successfully.
  3. On failure: Failed to update deal sequence. Please try again.

Test on POS

After saving, test with the same outlet, date, platform, and order type you configured on the deal.

Common mistakes / FAQs

  • I see “No deals found”. Clear Search, turn off Active Only / Current Only, or pick another Restaurant.
  • Add New Deal (+) disabled. Select a Restaurant first.
  • Reorder failed. Tap Refresh and drag again.

Add a deal

What it does

Creates a new deal in a four-tab dialog: Basic InfoProductsMedia & TagsHalf n Half Rules (last tab only after the deal is saved).

Step-by-step

  1. Tap Add New Deal (+) with a Restaurant selected.
  2. On Basic Info, enter name, type, dates, and other limits → tap Next.
  3. On Products, add product lines or build a Combo Product (for Combo Meal) → tap Next.
  4. On Media & Tags, add image and tags → tap Create Deal (or Next to Half n Half Rules if editing a saved deal).
  5. On success: Deal created successfully — dialog closes and list refreshes.

How limits combine: A deal only shows when Active, within Start/End dates, on a ticked Active Day (if any), inside Start/End Time (if set), on a listed Platform (if any), and for a listed Order Type (if any).

Products tab — product lines (most types)

Shown for all deal types except Combo Meal.

Step-by-step

  1. Tap Add Product — new line appears (default min 1, max 1).
  2. Choose Component Type* — defines the discount/selection rule.
  3. Choose Selection TypeProduct (specific items) or Category (customer picks from category).
  4. Pick product(s) or category/categories in the selector (multi-select types allow several).
  5. Set Min Quantity and Max Quantity — how many picks from this line.
  6. Fill extra fields for your component type (discount %, price adjustment, etc.).
  7. Optional: expand Multi-Variant Selection when one product has sizes/options.
  8. Tap Remove on a line to delete it. At least one line required before save.

Multi-Variant Selection (optional)

When you pick a single product with variants (Small, Large, etc.) and the type is not multi-select:

  1. Expand Multi-Variant Selection (Optional).
  2. Tick which variants are included — Select All / Deselect All shortcuts.
  3. Optional Price Override per variant; turn variants on/off for this deal.
  4. If none selected, all variants may still be offered at normal prices (warning on screen).

Products tab — Combo Meal

Replaces standard product lines. Deal Name and Description on Basic Info sync with the combo builder.

Step-by-step

  1. On Basic Info, set Deal Type = Combo Meal and enter Price (fixed combo price).
  2. On Products, open Combo Product section.
  3. Set Attribute Value Price checkbox (see table below).
  4. Tap Add Category Item for each step of the combo (e.g. “choose main”, “choose drink”) — at least one block.
  5. In each block: pick Categories, set Min/Max Quantity, tick Allowed Products, optional Attributes.
  6. Tap Create Deal / Update Deal — combo saves with the deal (no separate save button).

Attribute Value Price

Attributes in combo (optional)

  1. Tap Add Attribute inside a category block.
  2. Choose Attribute from dropdown.
  3. Tick allowed Values — at least one required per attribute row.
  4. Enter Price next to each value when Attribute Value Price is checked.
  5. Remove row with X.

Allowed products table: Select, Name, Variants, Price, Price Adjustment. Manage Variants for size/option inclusion and price override.

Common errors: Add at least one Item Category, select at least one category, select at least one allowed product, quantity errors naming Item Category 1, Item Category 2, etc.

Media & Tags tab

Deal image

Image uploads when you save the deal, not when you leave the tab.

Tags — searchable multi-select from tags already in your system. Optional — helps filter or group deals elsewhere.

Half n Half Rules tab

Different from LocationsHalf n Half screen. This tab adds extra price when a half-and-half is sold under this deal (e.g. Traditional + Gourmet on Large = +$5).

Outlet should have Half n Half product configured; attribute options come from that product’s sizes/options.

Add or edit a rule — step-by-step

  1. Tap Add Rule (or Edit on a row).
  2. Category 1* — first half’s category.
  3. Category 2* — second half’s category.
  4. Price Adjustment* — positive = surcharge (e.g. 5.00), negative = discount (e.g. -2.00). Helper: Positive for surcharge, negative for discount.
  5. Attributes (Optional) — tick size/option values from the outlet’s Half n Half product. Leave all unticked = rule applies to every size for that category pair.
  6. Tap Create Rule / save edit. Use Status switch on the table to pause a rule.

Common mistakes / FAQs

  • Half n Half Rules tab disabled. Save the deal first.
  • Combo Meal will not save. Complete every Item Category block.
  • Bundle/Combo without price. Price is required and must be greater than 0
  • Categories missing in rule form. Pick real menu categories — Half n Half category is excluded from the list.

Edit or view a deal

What it does

Opens Edit Deal or View Deal with the same four-tab layout as create.

Step-by-step

  1. Tap Edit (pencil) or View (eye) on a row.
  2. Change fields on any tab (edit only).
  3. Tap Update Deal on Media & Tags or Half n Half Rules, or Close in view-only mode.
  4. On success: Deal updated successfully — dialog closes and list refreshes.

View vs edit

View shows all tabs read-only with Close only. Use Edit to change and save.

Common mistakes / FAQs

  • Deal not on POS. Check Active, Start/End dates, platform, order type, and that deal items are Active at that location.
  • Tax group warning after save. Deal may still save — fix tax group under Tax Groups if needed.

Delete a deal

What it does

Permanently removes a deal from the selected restaurant.

Step-by-step

  1. Tap Delete (trash) on the row.
  2. Confirm: Are you sure you want to delete the deal "{name}"? This action cannot be undone.
  3. On success: The deal has been deleted successfully. — list refreshes.

Permanent

Deletion cannot be undone. Set Active off instead if you may need the deal again.

  • Reorder failed. Refresh and drag again.
  • Delete is permanent. Use Inactive on Basic Info to pause instead.
