Customer groups
Use this page to create customer groups - segments such as VIP, corporate, or staff discount - and assign registered customers for promotions, pricing, and reporting.

Groups use registered customers
Only customers from the Customers screen can be added to a group. Guest checkout profiles are not assigned here.
Customer groups list
What it does
Shows saved groups for your outlet with name, description, member count, and status.
Step-by-step
- Open User Management → Customer Groups.
- Wait if the table shows Loading….
- Read the table - Name, Description, Members, Status, and Actions.
- Tap the refresh button (circular arrow) to reload the list.
- Use pagination at the bottom to change page or rows per page.
What the table shows

Outlet scope
Groups load for your logged-in user’s restaurant / outlet. Customer pickers in create and edit also show active customers for that outlet.
Common mistakes / FAQs
- I see “No groups found.” No groups exist yet for your outlet, or data failed to load. Tap refresh or tap Add Group to create one.
- I do not see Add Group. Ask your administrator for CREATE permission on Customer Groups.
Create a customer group
What it does
Adds a new segment and optionally assigns customers to it.
Step-by-step
- Tap Add Group.
- In the Create Customer Group dialog, enter Name (required).
- Optionally enter Description.
- Tap Click to select customers… to open Select Customers (see next section). You can save with no customers selected.
- Toggle Status on or off (defaults to Active).
- Tap Create Group.
- When successful, you see Customer group created successfully and the dialog closes.
Group fields

Common mistakes / FAQs
- “Name is required”. Enter a group name before you tap Create Group.
- “No customers selected yet.” That is allowed - you can add members later when you Edit the group.
Select customers
What it does
Picks which registered customers belong to the group. Opens from the create or edit dialog.
Step-by-step
- Tap Click to select customers… in the group dialog.
- In Select Customers, search by name, email, or phone if needed.
- Tick individual customers, or tap Select All / Deselect All to pick everyone in the list.
- Tap Apply to confirm and return to the group dialog.
- Tap Cancel to close without applying changes.
Who appears in the list
The picker shows active customers for your outlet. If someone is missing, check they exist under Customers and are Active.
Common mistakes / FAQs
- “Loading customers…” Wait for the list to finish loading before you apply.
- “No customers found”. Your search matched nobody, or no active customers exist for this outlet.
View a customer group
What it does
Shows a read-only summary of the group name, status, description, and members.
Step-by-step
- In the table, tap View (eye icon) on the row.
- Read the group name, status badge, and member count in the header.
- Scroll to Description and Members.
- Tap Close when finished.
Read-only view
The view dialog has no Edit or Save button. To change the group, close it and tap Edit (pencil) on the table row.
Edit a customer group
What it does
Updates the group name, description, status, or member list.
Step-by-step
- In the table, tap Edit (pencil icon) on the row.
- In the Edit Customer Group dialog, change Name, Description, or Status.
- Tap Click to select customers… to add or remove members (same flow as Select customers above).
- Remove individual members using the X on a customer chip in the dialog, if shown.
- Tap Update Group.
- When successful, you see Customer group updated successfully and the dialog closes.
Common mistakes / FAQs
- Failed to update customer group. Check that Name is filled in and try again.
Delete a customer group
What it does
Permanently removes the group and its customer associations.
Step-by-step
- In the table, tap Delete (trash icon) on the row.
- Read the confirmation: This action cannot be undone. This will permanently delete the customer group and remove all associations.
- Tap Delete to confirm, or Cancel to keep the group.
- When successful, you see Customer group deleted successfully.
Deletion is permanent
Deleting a group does not delete the customers themselves - only the group and its memberships.

View, Edit, and Delete appear on each row when you can open this page. If an action fails, ask your administrator to check your role permissions.
Where groups are used
Customer groups can feed:
- Customers - assign groups when editing a customer
- Marketing campaigns - pick a group as the campaign audience
- Promo codes - limit a code to selected groups
Create groups before you set up campaigns or promo rules that depend on them.
