Discount Permissions
Use this page to control how much of a discount staff in a given role can apply at the POS terminal — a flat dollar amount, a percentage, or both, with optional maximum limits.

Different from Roles and Permission
Roles defines your roles, and Permission controls which admin/POS modules a role can open. This page only controls discount limits at checkout for the role you select.
Select a role
What it does
Loads the discount settings for one role at a time.
Step-by-step
- Open Security → Discount Permissions.
- Select a Role from the dropdown.
- Tap refresh to reload its settings from the server.
Empty / loading
- No Role Selected — pick a role from the dropdown to view or configure its discount permissions.

System roles can't be edited here
If you select a built-in system role (like the default Admin role) and you're not signed in as Admin, Super Admin, or Support, you'll see System role cannot be edited. Create a custom role instead if you need to configure discount limits.
View or change discount limits
What it does
Shows the role's current discount settings, or lets you change them.
Step-by-step
- With a role selected, tap Edit.
- Toggle Dollar (Flat) Discount on to allow staff to take a fixed amount off, then optionally set Max Flat Amount ($) — leave blank for no limit.
- Toggle Percentage Discount on to allow a percent off, then optionally set Max Percent — leave blank for no limit.
- Toggle Allow Custom Amount Entry on to let staff type their own discount amount at POS, or off to restrict them to Quick Select buttons only.
- Tap Save Changes (Saving... while working).
- On success: Discount permission updated successfully.
- Tap Cancel at any point to discard changes.

Common mistakes / FAQs
I saved but the numbers look wrong at POS — what did I miss?
Check whether Allow Custom Amount Entry is off — with it off, staff can only pick from preset Quick Select amounts at POS, not the maximum you typed here. The maximum only caps what's allowed, it doesn't create the Quick Select presets.
A role has never been configured here — what does staff see at POS?
Until you save settings for a role, it behaves as if every discount is turned off for that role.
