Variants
Use this page to open a product and manage its variants — different sellable versions of the same product (like Small / Medium / Large), each with its own price, SKU, and optional stock tracking.
Open the screen: Sidebar → Master Data Management → Variants
Variants vs. Modifiers vs. Item Attributes
A variant replaces the base product with an alternate version that has its own price and SKU (e.g. a T-shirt's Small/Medium/Large). A modifier is an add-on placed on top of whatever was ordered (e.g. "Extra cheese"). Item Attributes is a separate catalog of reusable dimension names and values — variants don't currently pull from it; you type each variant's option labels directly.

Stock is entered once
Initial Stock is only used when the variant is first created. When editing later, re-enter it if you need to adjust stock — inventory changes after that are handled through Purchase Orders in Inventory.
Common mistakes / FAQs
My variant won't save with Track Inventory on. Why?
Initial Stock and Minimum Stock Level are required whenever Track Inventory is on — including when editing, since the stock field is left blank for you to re-enter.
Bulk-create variants
What it does
Adds several variants at once instead of one at a time.
Step-by-step
- Tap Bulk Create.
- Tap Quick Fill (S/M/L) for a starter Small/Medium/Large set, or tap Add Another Variant to build your own rows.
- Fill in Variant Name and Price for each row (SKU and Online Price are optional).
- Remove a row with its trash icon if needed.
- Tap Create N Variants.
- On success: Variants created successfully.
Rows without a name or price are skipped
Only rows with both a Variant Name and a Price greater than 0 are created. Add the rest of each variant's details afterward with Edit.
Deactivate a variant
What it does
Stops a variant from being ordered while keeping its order history.
Step-by-step
- Tap the trash icon on a variant.
- Confirm Deactivate Variant.
- On success: Variant deactivated successfully.
This deactivates, it doesn't delete
Existing orders that used this variant are kept — the variant just stops showing for new orders.
