Receipt Printing

The POS can print several kinds of receipts after a sale. This page explains each copy, when the print screen appears, and how to reprint.

Receipt types

CopyWho it's forWhat it shows
Customer CopyThe customerItems, discounts, charges, tax, and total
Merchant CopyThe venueSame as the customer copy - keep for records & accounting
Kitchen Copy (KOT)The kitchenItems and modifiers to prepare - no prices
Label CopyPackagingOne label per item for bags and boxes
Customer Info ReceiptDrivers / counter staffCustomer name, contact details, and order number

INFO

Label Copy appears only when a label printer is set up and enabled. Customer Info Receipt appears only when it is enabled in printer settings. See Printers & Cash Drawer.

The print confirmation screen

After a payment, or when you save an order, the Print Confirmation screen can appear. It shows:

  • Return Amount - the change to give back for a cash payment. Count it out before anything else.
  • Pickup / Delivery / Waiting time - when the order is needed.
  • Receipt checkboxes - one per copy.

To print:

  1. Tick the copies you want.
  2. For the Kitchen Copy, choose New items only (just what was added since the last kitchen print) or All items.
  3. Tap Print. Or tap Cancel to finish without printing.

TIP

If a copy was printed before, the screen warns you - for example "Customer Copy already printed. Print again?". This stops accidental duplicate kitchen tickets.

When does the print screen appear?

Your venue chooses one of three print behaviours in POS Settings:

SettingWhat happens after payment
Ask every timeThe Print Confirmation screen opens - you choose what to print
Auto printThe pre-selected copies print silently with no screen
Do not printNothing prints - use reprint when a customer asks for a receipt

INFO

🔒 Manager only - the print behaviour, and which copies auto-print, are set in Settings → General on the POS. With Auto print, the confirmation screen still appears if some copy was already printed earlier, so you never double-print by accident.

Reprint a receipt

  1. Tap Orders in the navigation.
  2. Open the order.
  3. Tap the print option and choose the copies to print again.

For dine-in orders that are still open, you can also print an interim bill - tap Print Customer Copy on the payment screen to give the table their bill before they pay.

Card payment slips

For card payments, the EFTPOS terminal prints its own transaction slip. That slip comes from the terminal, not the POS, and prints regardless of the POS receipt settings. If a customer needs the card slip again, it can be reprinted from the payment gateway logs - see Payment Gateways.

What prints on the receipt

The customer receipt shows the order items and every price adjustment made on the order: discounts, coupon discounts, cash discount, surcharges, delivery charge, taxes, payments received, and any gift card balance remaining.

INFO

Logos, header text, and footer messages on the receipt are configured in Receipt Customisation.

FAQs

Nothing prints at all. What do I check?

Work through these in order:

  1. Check the printer is powered on, has paper, and is connected.
  2. Check the right printer is selected in Printers & Cash Drawer.
  3. Check the print behaviour in POS Settings is not set to Do not print.

If the printer still does not respond, see Troubleshooting.

The kitchen got the same items twice. Why?

Someone chose All items instead of New items only when printing the kitchen copy. All items reprints the entire order, including items the kitchen already has. For orders sent in rounds, always use New items only.

The customer wants a receipt for yesterday's order.

Open the order from the Orders screen history and reprint the Customer Copy. Any past order can be reprinted at any time - the receipt shows the same items, discounts, and totals as the original.
