Barcode Price Labels

The Barcode Price Labels screen prints sticky labels that show an item's name, price, and a scannable barcode. Use them for shelf edges, packaged items, or anything you want staff to scan at the till instead of searching by name.

Tap Operations → Barcode Price Labels to open the screen.

INFO

Labels print to a label printer. Set one up first in Printers & Cash Drawer. If no label printer is configured, the Print button is disabled and a reminder appears.

Find and select items

The left side lists your items. The right side is the print queue.

  1. Use Search items to find an item by name or barcode.
  2. Use the Category dropdown to narrow the list to one category.
  3. Tick the checkbox next to each item you want a label for. The item moves into the Print Queue on the right.

TIP

To label a whole category at once, choose the category, then tap Select All. Tap Clear to empty the queue and start over.

Choose the price for items with variants

If an item has more than one variant (e.g. Small / Medium / Large), a dropdown appears in the Price / Variant column.

  1. Select the variant you want on the label.
  2. The queue updates to use that variant's price and barcode.

Each variant prints as its own label with its own price and barcode.

Preview and pick a layout

The Print Queue panel shows a live preview of the first label in the queue.

  1. Under Label Layout, choose Layout 1 or Layout 2 to change how the name, price, and barcode are arranged.
  2. Check the preview matches what you want.

INFO

The label's size, font size, and other print options come from your label printer settings in Printers & Cash Drawer. Adjust them there if the text is too large or the label is the wrong width.

  1. Confirm the queue has every item you want.
  2. Tap Print Labels.

One label prints per queued item (or per variant). A confirmation shows how many labels printed.

WARNING

If printing fails, check the label printer is powered on, has labels loaded, and is still connected. Then try again. See Printers & Cash Drawer to re-check the printer setup.

Common questions

The barcode on the label doesn't scan at the till - what's wrong?

The label prints the item's barcode (or a variant's GTIN) set in the admin portal. If an item has no barcode set, its label prints without a scannable code. Add a barcode to the item in the admin portal, then reprint the label.

The Print Labels button is greyed out.

No label printer is set up, or label printing is switched off. Go to Settings → Printers, add a label printer, and enable label printing. See Printers & Cash Drawer.

Can I weigh items and print a price on the label?

Barcode Price Labels prints a fixed price per item. For weighed items priced by the kilogram, use a connected CAS scale - it can print a weighed label itself, or the POS reads the weight live at the till. See Weight Scale.
